Not Your Average Walk: YNPN to Highlight 220 mile journey on WGVU
The Young Nonprofit Professions Network of Grand Rapids highlights the Walk Across Michigan to Raise Money for Community Art (WAMCA). From May 2-10, four Altruists will walk 220 miles across Lower Michigan to support students in Ghana.
YNPN Board Member Kevin Lignell and WAMCA walker Sean Mackey will speak on the WGVU Morning show with Shelley Irwin about the upcoming walk on Tuesday morning at 10:30am.
Funds raised during the walk will be used to sponsor a drum and dance cultural education group from Ghana, West Africa that will take part in educational outreach to many Grand Haven schools later this year. Additionally, the culture group from Ghana is working with many local artists to create a local and international interactive art installation for the 2011 ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI.
