The YNPN Grand Rapids Leadership Awards celebrate the outstanding leadership and vision of young nonprofit leaders in our community. Award categories include:

ADVOCATE | The Advocate Award will go to an individual who is always advocating for their cause. You can’t see this person anywhere without hearing about their favorite green organization, how many children are hungry in our community, or how voting will change everything! This person is on the street talking about their cause and raising community-wide awareness each and every day.

BREAKTHROUGH | The Breakthrough Award will go to an individual or organization whose work has led to a new method, idea, or process that has positively impacted the community and/or discovered a new solution to a complex problem within the nonprofit sector.

DOGOODER | The DoGooder Award is an exemplary volunteer. A DoGooder is one that never quits. They may be involved with multiple organizations or volunteers every chance they get. Nominating someone for this award allows you the chance to tell them thank you for all they do for your organization or the community at-large.

DOROTHY A. JOHNSON EXCELLENCE AND ACHIEVEMENT AWARD | This award will honor a seasoned leader in the nonprofit industry in West Michigan-someone who consistently sets an example for the next generation of nonprofit leaders, just as Dottie Johnson has done.

EXEMPLARY EXECUTIVE | The Exemplary Executive Award will go to an exemplary young nonprofit executive director. This young non-profit executive director should show strong leadership and initiative in moving their organization forward.

GOOD-TO-GREAT | The Good-To-Great Award will go to an individual that has moved an organization or program from good to great. This person may have increased the participation in a program at your organization, strengthened an organization so that it may provide stronger service to the community, took a dying organization and made it once again sustainable, or has shown strong initiative towards improving a program or service.

UNSUNG HERO | The Unsung Hero Award will go to an individual who has positively influenced a nonprofit organization from behind the scenes with positive attitude, a willingness to help, and a commitment to excellence but often goes unrecognized.
YOUNG NONPROFIT PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR | The Young Nonprofit Professional of the Year Award will go to someone who excels in their work, always goes above and beyond for their cause, is always looking for a new way to make nonprofit service better, and is an overall fabulous professional in the nonprofit sector.

The 2017 YNPN.GR Leadership Awards will be held November Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at St. Cecilia's Music Center in Grand Rapids.
