Lessons Learned from Giving USA - 2019

Philanthropic giving in the USA has been consistently on the rise for the past 10 years, however, a 2017 report co-authored by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropyand Independent Sector found that this trend may be coming to end. With the rise of social enterprises, growing income disparity, and changes in the tax law it is estimated that giving could drop by as much as $13.1 billion!

Join us as we review the Giving USA - 2019 data and discuss how giving was impacted in 2018. We'll learn about the demographics of giving, where giving went, and how much was given in 2018. Led by Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Suzie Blake, you'll gain valuable insights on giving trends that can help inform your fund development strategies.

As the Donor Relations and Major Gifts Director for the Grand Rapids Public Museum, Blake understands how this data manifests and how to apply it to your work. Blake is also a board member for the Association of Fundraising Professionals West Michigan, overseeing their mentor/mentee program, and is dedicated to empowering and developing young fundraising professionals.

Please note: This will be the last entirely free conversation starter. In the fall, we will transition to these events being free for members and $5 for non-members. Join today!
