Our Board Members

Rachel Humphreys | Development Director, Affinity Mentoring | rachel@ynpngr.org

Rachel is passionate about education, community-building, and empowering youth through mentorship. What she values about YNPN is the support and leadership opportunities for young nonprofit professionals. When Rachel is not at work, she enjoys refinishing furniture, walking her dog, Emilio, and exploring the outdoors with her twin daughters. She holds a Master of Science in Communication Studies from Grand Valley State University, focused on organizational leadership and inclusion initiatives. In addition to YNPN, she is the Chair of the Diversity, Inclusion, and Global Outreach Committee (DIG) at YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin, a member of the Sense of Belonging Workgroup at Westside Collaborative, and a mentor at Affinity Mentoring.

Kevin Peterson | Nonprofit Services Program Coordinator, Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy | kevin@ynpngr.org

Kevin is an advocate for developing strong communities through resident engagement and empowerment. When not completing homework from his classes in the Master of Public Administration - Nonprofit Management & Leadership program at GVSU, you can find Kevin kayaking, walking Aman park, snowshoeing, or likely volunteering out in the community. In 2019, Kevin served as the Chapter Support Fellow for YNPN National, where he provided technical assistance and coaching to the 44 chapters across the country. Kevin values YNPN-GR for its potential to both lift and support local talent by providing accessible and quality professional development and networking opportunities.

Alica Woodrick Philanthropy Officer, Annual Giving & Donor Relations, Saint Mary's Foundation | alica@ynpngr.org

Alica loves helping others and sharing joy with them - in whatever capacity that she can. She values YNPN because it provides West Michigan young professionals opportunities to connect with local non-profit organizations, engage in continuous learning and growth through professional development, and serve the Grand Rapids community. What drove her to join the YNPN board was that she wanted to give back, be a part of, and serve an organization that provides so many opportunities for professionals to gain insight on the philanthropy sector in our community. When not working or in meetings, she loves spending quality time with her family and friends, staying active, traveling and exploring new places, and enjoying local breweries or places with delicious dessert!

Kasie Pickart | Enabling Services and Operations Specialist, Michigan Primary Care Association | kasie@ynpngr.org

Kasie's passion is engaging in health care advocacy and policy, including educating elected officials. During her board term, she wants to create opportunities for others to network, learn, and develop skills as they begin their careers in the Grand Rapids community while keeping their passion for the nonprofit industry alive and thriving. When she is not at work, she enjoys kickboxing, taking her Morkie, Mila, on walks, trying new restaurants and burying herself in a good book. Kasie is the recipient of the 2018 Michigan Primary Care Association Peer Leadership Award for advocacy work at Cherry Health and holds a Master's of Public Health with an emphasis in Health Policy & Administration from GVSU.

Winni Walsh, CNP | Development Director, American Heart Association | winni@ynpngr.org

What Winni values most about YNPN is the camaraderie and the mindset that members all truly want to see each other succeed. Members serve as a support system and a growth opportunity for one another, and are always willing to share their knowledge as well as lend a listening ear. When not at work, she enjoys cooking, crafting, and watching Hulu. She is passionate about women's rights and ensuring healthcare for all. Winni wanted to join the board because she believes that she has a lot to learn from YNPN and she wanted more people in the sector to be aware of YNPN's resources. YNPN provides a space for both personal and professional peers to share, ask questions, and get support. She wanted to be a part of that!

Stacie Stephens | Site/Program Manager for Maple Health Home, Cherry Health | stacie@ynpngr.org

Stacie's passion is providing the opportunity for mental health care to all who want and need the services. She sought to join the YNPN.GR because of the opportunity to build community with other young professionals and values the fellowship around education and growth building that YNPN offers. She holds a Master's in Health Administration from GVSU. When not at work, she loves traveling, experiences new places, and trying new restaurants.

Michael Pratt | Senior Associate, Ktisis Capital | michael@ynpngr.org

Michael is passionate about advancing equity and justice – in organizations, communities, and society. He considers himself fortunate to be able to pursue this passion through both his full time role at Ktisis Capital, in his capacity as Vice President of the BOD at Alternatives in Motion, and, now, as board member of YNPN! He started his career at the Johnson Center for Philanthropy, so he's a big believer in the power, role, and importance of philanthropic support and infrastructure organizations. Michael believes that the YNPN board is a wonderful opportunity to continue supporting – and being supported by – a vital infrastructure organization. In his free time, Michael enjoys drinking red wine, playing euchre with friends, going to shows, and being disappointed by the Detroit Red Wings.
